Description
Star Flower, also known as Star Anise (Illicium verum), is a star-shaped spice that comes from the fruit of a tree native to northeastern Vietnam and southern China. The spice has a strong, sweet, and licorice-like flavor, similar to aniseed but more potent. Star Anise is commonly used in both sweet and savory dishes and is a key ingredient in Chinese five-spice powder and many Southeast Asian, Indian, and Mediterranean dishes.
